A lawn with poor drainage or with elevation drops will be hard to use, and any landscaping in the area can die from excess sitting water. Additionally, standing water near structures can lead to foundational issues. We can install underground drainage systems or swells to mitigate water retention from gutter downspouts or places you don't want it.
At this home, a retaining wall was installed to help create a flat ground where children could play, while still allowing water to drain away from the house. A drain was installed in the grassy part of this lawn to prevent puddling in the lower side of the yard.
If water is collecting near a building like your home, it can impact the structural integrity. We use multiple drainage techniques including installing outdoor drainage to move the water away from buildings and walkways.
In low-lying areas that have no choice but to collect water, we install rock and foliage to make a water garden that is both functional and beautiful.
